鹿児島県立松陽高等学校音楽科、大分県立芸術文化短期大学音楽科ピアノ専攻卒業。卒業後、鹿児島県教職員として採用され、音楽の教鞭を執る。第17.18.19.20回南日本Jr.ピアノコンクール、第47回南日本音楽コンクール入選。篠笛奏者として高い評価を受けており、無形文化財伝統行事における奉納演奏をはじめ、霧島国際音楽ホールみやまコンセール主催公演「霧島芸術の森を巡る旅」「童謡あらかると」、第17回天孫降臨「霧島祭」ゲスト演奏、奈良県平城宮隼人祭り公演などに出演。さらに、台湾国際文化交流演奏会、ロンドン英国国教会演奏会、ドイツ・ハンブルク夏季音楽祭、オーストラリア・パースJapan Festivalゲスト演奏など、国内外において幅広く演奏活動を展開している。舞踊、朗読、JAZZなど多様なジャンルの芸術家との共演を重ね、数多くのCDレコーディングにも参加。2010. 2022. 2025年リサイタル開催。また、県内各地において篠笛ワークショップの講師を務めるほか、地域創生公演への参画にも積極的に取り組んでいる。
Shinobue player Rumiko Setoguchi
Born in Kagoshima Prefecture.
Graduated from Kagoshima Prefectural Shoyo High School, majoring in piano, and Oita Prefectural College of Arts and Culture, majoring in piano. After graduation, he was hired as a teacher in Kagoshima Prefecture, where he teaches music.
Highly acclaimed as a shinobue player, he has performed in numerous concerts and recordings both in Japan and abroad, including dedication performances at traditional intangible cultural heritage events, concerts sponsored by the Kirishima International Music Hall Miyama Concert Hall, a guest performance at the Tenson Korin Kirishima Festival, a concert commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Meiji Restoration in Kagoshima Prefecture, a Taiwan•Europe International Cultural Exchange Concert, a concert at the Anglican Church in London, an invited performance at the Hamburg Music Festival in Germany, and a guest performance at the Perth Japan Festival in Australia. He has collaborated with artists from a wide range of genres. Recitals will be held in 2022 and 2025.
